Pneumatic Conveyor Options
Ingredient Masters, a world leader in the design and fabrication of batching equipment for dry bulk solids, is also industry’s best source for systems that incorporate batching with a pneumatic conveyor.
Ingredient Masters works with leaders in the vacuum conveying industry to supplie several high quality pneumatic conveyor designs as part of an integrated, cost-effective package. This is an ideal processing solution for companies with fast-track requirements, or who want to save on engineering, fabrication, and commissioning costs.
Like its batching equipment, a pneumatic conveyor supplied by Ingredient Masters is custom-built to suit the customer, the facility and the product mix. Here are the three main types:
Low to Medium Pressure, Low-Velocity Systems
These have a medium to high material-to-air ratio and can be pressure, vacuum, or closed loop. They are recommended for short or long distances, with low to medium conveying rates. This equipment is suitable for many applications, except those involving abrasive or friable materials.
High-Pressure, Low-Velocity Systems
These use pressure conveying exclusively. They have a high material-to-air ratio and use an air compressor as the power source. They are most advantageous for medium to long conveying distances and medium to high conveyance rates, and are suitable for a wide range of materials, including abrasives.
Low to Medium Pressure, Low-Velocity Systems
These are suitable for pressure, vacuum, or closed loop conveying, and have a medium to high material to air ratio. They are most appropriate for short to medium distances, and medium to high conveyance rates.
A bulk bag conditioner (sometimes called a bulk bag pre-conditioner or bulk bag massager) is often purchased to assure good and consistent flow of dry ingredients before they’re discharged.
An air controller modifies the density of the air entering the blower to compensate for system fluctuations, such a material throughput or air loss, by increasing or decreasing the mass flow of air in the system. As a result, a constant pre-selected material-to air ratio is maintained, thus creating a low velocity, dense phase waveform flow pattern. Many diverse materials, including friable materials, are compatible with this equipment.
This is the best pneumatic conveyor where there are concerns about material integrity, product segregation, changeover logistics, and energy use. It is ideal for applications with multiple pick-up points and multiple destinations.
This option is a time-proven option for granular and shaped materials found throughout the process industries.
