Pneumatic Conveyors
Ingredient Masters, a world leader in the design and fabrication of batching
equipment for dry bulk solids, is also industry’s best source for systems that
incorporate batching with pneumatic conveyors.
Ingredient Masters engineers and manufactures dry ingredient batching
and supplies high quality pneumatic conveyors from its vendor partner,
Horizon Systems, as part of an integrated, cost-effective package. This is an ideal
processing solution for companies with fast-track requirements, or who want to
save on engineering, fabrication, and commissioning costs.
Like its batching equipment, pneumatic conveyors supplied by
Ingredient Masters and Horizon Systems are custom-built to suit the customer,
the facility and the product mix. Here are the 3 main types:
Dilute Phase Pneumatic Conveyors
These are low to medium pressure, low-velocity systems with a medium to high
material-to-air ratio. Dilute phase pneumatic conveying systems can be pressure,
vacuum, or closed loop. Dilute phase is recommended for short or long distances,
with low to medium conveying rates. This equipment is suitable for many
applications, except those involving abrasive or friable materials.
Batch Dense Phase Pneumatic Conveyors
These high-pressure, low velocity systems use pressure conveying exclusively.
They have a high material-to-air ratio and use an air compressor as the power source.
They are most advantageous for medium to long conveying distances and medium
to high conveyance rates. Batch dense phase is suitable or a wide range of materials,
including those involving abrasives.
Contran™ Pneumatic Conveyors
These are low to medium pressure, low-velocity systems that are suitable
for pressure, vacuum, or closed loop conveying. Contran pneumatic conveyors
manufactured for Ingredient Masters customers by Horizon Systems have
a medium to high material to air ratio, and are most beneficial for short to
medium distances, and medium to high conveyance rates.
A Contran air controller modifies the density on the air entering the blower to
compensate for system fluctuations, such a material throughput or air loss,
by increasing or decreasing the mass flow of air in the system. As a result,
a constant pre-selected material-to air ratio is maintained, thus creating a low
velocity, dense phase waveform flow pattern. A wide range of materials,
including friable materials, is compatible with this equipment.
Contran is the best pneumatic conveyor where there are concerns
about material integrity, product segregation, changeover logistics,
and energy use. It is also ideal for applications with multiple pick-up
points to multiple destinations. Contran is a time-proven option for granular and shaped materials
found throughout the process industries.
